Jimmy Sinclair was born in Scotland on January 24th, 1951. While playing in Scotland Jimmy captained the Scottish Junior National team, and he won the MVP for Yoker Athletic Football Club.
Jimmy’s involvement in soccer in North America has spanned more than 30 years. He has played professional soccer with the Hamilton Steelers, the Buffalo Stallions and the Tacoma Stars. Jimmy played a large part of his professional career with the Buffalo Stallions of the MISL, appearing in 247 games and scoring 42 goals between 1979 – 1985. During this time he won Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Most Valuable Player, and MISL player of the week awards.
In the National Soccer League Jimmy played for Hamilton Croatia, Hamilton Italo Canadians, London City, and Hamilton Steelers. Jimmy also played in the Ontario Premier Division until the age of 50.
Jimmy Sinclair is also an accomplished teacher of the game. He has coached youth soccer with many organizations, including Mount Hamilton SC, and Oakville SC. Jimmy has coached at the university level with Mc Master University and at the high school level with Westmount Secondary School. While coaching at Westmount the team won a city championship. Jimmy also served as head coach of the Hamilton Lady Avalanche in the W-League of the USL.
Jimmy’s love of the game is seen in his vast experience as a player and his constant commitment to the game.
